The Story of the '79' Chevy Camaro

My dad had this '76' Chevy Malibu Classic station wagon. After some time the 305 cid engine started to go, so he bought a used 305 cid from someone he knew, who wrecked the car the engine was in. Only after tearing down the engine, we realized it was a 350 cid and not the 305 cid. Over the next few weekends, at a truck shop owned by a friend of his, I cleaned and scrubbed each part to make it easier to check for bad parts, and to get ready for reassembly. After reassembling the engine we bolted it to the transmission and dropped it in. The engine was missing the intake manifold and carburetor. My dad found an intake at a local salvage yard. It turned out to be a factory replica cast in aluminum, (awesome find). My dad bought an Edelbrock® 600cfm carburetor and I bolted it in place. The first cam shaft I put in was a used racing cam from a friend of my dads. it lasted about 1 month. The next one was a stock unit from COMP Cams®.

I plan to use Year One® in my restoration.

I fixed the head light. I had it in the car for safe keeping. Photo was taken on the first day camaro was in Wisconsin Shes dirty, but FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have new rims that MATCH now After sitting for a few years, She can still light the tires!!!!
